InspectorFox (“the app”) is a field-inspection tool provided for authorized organizational use. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how it is protected. Access requires an account provisioned by your organization’s administrator, and inspection records are held under your organization’s control.

Data we collect

We collect only what is needed to carry out and review inspections. All of the following is linked to your account identity and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. InspectorFox contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

  • Precise location. Captured only when you explicitly record a site location during an active inspection (when-in-use). The app never tracks your location continuously or in the background.
  • Photos and videos. Evidence you capture with the in-app camera. It is stored in app-private storage and is never written to your device photo library.
  • Account identity (User ID). Your account identifier and role, used to authenticate you and enforce role-based access.
  • Inspection content you enter. Site details, observations, notes and related metadata that make up an inspection record.

How we use it

Data is used solely to provide app functionality: creating and syncing inspections, capturing and verifying evidence, and enabling authorized supervisors and analysts to review submissions. Every evidence item is fingerprinted with a device-side SHA-256 hash and independently re-verified by the server to preserve chain of custody. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

How it is stored and protected

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored on servers operated under your organization’s control. Evidence is accessed only through short-lived, audited signed links. The app maintains a complete, append-only audit trail of access and changes.

Retention and your choices

Inspection records are retained according to your organization’s policies. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, email support@inspectorfox.app. Because records belong to the commissioning organization, we will coordinate your request with your administrator.

Children

InspectorFox is intended for use by authorized adult staff and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
